Full-Length Final Cut of the HBO Series

When I saw the listing for Stolen Summer when it aired on Cinemax last year, I was intrigued by the thought of a 2nd grade Irish Catholic boy trying to convert the son of a Jewish Rabbi, so I recorded it, and loved the movie, recommended it to my mother (she's 80-something), and am watching it again as I write this page.

Young Pete O'Malley, during this movie, learns that there's more than one route leading to heaven, in spite of what he has been taught in church and school and by his parents. He finally learns, for himself, that faith is the most important part of his life, not the name of the entity that someone prays to. Along the way, the parents learn some lessons, too.
