Mazes for $100
Every maze will be the same difficulty and contain the same message, but every maze will be different. Click here or scroll down this page to see sample mazes of each difficulty level, details about each type, and different ways that messages can be a-mazed into the puzzle, and other custom options. Once you have decided what to order, please use the text-box below ... delete the excess text so that the box only contains your desired difficulty level, add the message to be a-mazed, and add any special instructions you might wish to provide. (Please limit your instructions to three lines of information, as longer texts may not get forwarded to me when you finalize your purchase.) | Mazes delivered by e-mail will be
GIF images almost 640x480 pixels in size. BMP images are available
at extra charge. You may request smaller images of some mazes at additional
charge. Hardest mazes cannot be reduced.
Very Very Hard mazes, like the above, will be about 213 cells wide and will almost always be made with our hollow alphabet. Multiple-maze discounts are not available for the very very hard mazes because of the extra work involved in creating the hardest mazes. The very hard maze is good if you want to try to put an entire love-note into one maze. This particular sample maze contains a mixture of hollow, medium and small alphabets.
Difficult mazes, like Christoph's, will be about 159 cells wide and will typically be made with our hollow alphabet, unless you request a longer message, in which case, we will use our best judgment. If requested, we can mix solid and hollow alphabets on request.
Medium mazes, like my reader maze, will be about 106-127 cells wide. Shorter messages (up to 4 lines, up to 7-8 characters per line) will be a-mazed with our hollow alphabet. Longer messages or words will force us to use the smaller alphabet to make it fit.
As Easy as Possible with our Hollow Alphabet: If you choose this option, we will adjust the size of the maze to fit your message, using all hollow letters. The advantage of our hollow alphabet is that the answer might go through the hollow part of some of the letters. (Our hollow alphabet is 15 cells tall.) This sample "DAVE" maze is an example of "as easy as possible with hollow alphabet" using the full size.
The second "DAVE" sample is an example of shortening the height of the maze to make it easier to solve. (The default is to do the full size, so if you want a shorter maze, you must specifically request it.)
The "PAULA LOVES CHRIS" sample is another example of the "As easy as possible using hollow alphabet" option.
As Easy as Possible with our Medium Alphabet: With this option, we adjust the size of the maze to fit your message, using our solid 9-cell-tall letters. Bill's maze uses the 9-tall letters.
As Easy as Possible with our Small Alphabet: With this option, we use our solid 7-cell-tall letters. With the three As Easy as Possible options, the final size of the maze will be determined by the message to be amazed. With a one-word message, like JAN above, the maze can be very easy, but with longer names, it will be harder. If you wanted a simpler maze for CHRISTOPHER, you might ask me to make it a short maze, like the final sample below:
Mixing Hollow and Solid Alphabets: Upon request, we can try
to be creative by mixing the sizes of letters. For example, you could ask
me to a-maze "ARLEEN LOVES BILL" with the names in hollow letters and LOVES
in the smaller letters. Put your request for special mixtures of text inside
the Maze Message area or send me an e-mail. You can see an example of mixing
fonts on Mrs. Hoge's maze near the top of this page. |
